Ann Melite combines design excellence with gerontological insight to create environments for seniors that go beyond aesthetics to enhance safety, security, comfort and wellbeing.

A Licensed Interior Designer (B.S. in Design) with nearly two decades of experience, Ann has the distinction of also being a Gerontologist (M.A.) and Certified Dementia Practitioner. As such, she understands the fundamental shortcomings of many of today’s senior environments and knows how to re-envision and reshape them for optimal results.

Ann’s clients include senior living providers and developers who seek to build today’s most efficient, responsive and safe environments for seniors. Ann also partners with architectural and design firms that share her passion for taking senior living design to a higher, more science-driven level.

Ann has provided extensive, thought-provoking interior design services to clients ranging from major, corporate-owned senior living providers with over 200 communities nationwide, to smaller, family-owned communities, to town senior centers and developers. She has helped clients establish FF&E standards, create branded environments, and optimize purchasing power.¬†Ann also has designed and advised on culture change initiatives, DPH code studies, complete finish, furniture and equipment specification, and post-occupancy evaluation and research. Before launching Melite Designs, Ann was a principal of a mid-sized architectural firm where she spearheaded its senior living and business development activities. She also managed a team of 10 Interior designers serving corporate, education and acute health care clients.Ann’s business background also includes experience as a marketing manager for a computer firm and as the founder of a small business.
